Final Results of Round Robin 1

It was expected to be a strong-wing day and so far this morning the weather hasn't let us down in Hard, Austria. With a fresh breeze between 16-17 knots and gusts that reached 20 knots, the final races of the first Round Robin certainly proved to be testing for the crews but also very exciting for the crowds that came to watch despite the unrelenting rain.

Unlike yesterday, when tactical smarts were the name of the game, Thursday's strong weather put a premium on crew work, boat handling and smooth maneuvers. Organizers were able to quickly wrap up the remaining 3 flights in the Open division and the 2 flights in the Women division. Mads Ebler from Denmark won all three matches and is now holding the top spot in Group B with a perfect 5-0 score. Cristiana Monina from Italy won her first race and lost her second one, retaining her first place with a 4-1 score.

The second Round Robin started after a short break, enough for the crews to switch race areas. The Open division will now be racing inside the Binnenbecken inner lake, while the girls will take their turn racing in Lake Constance.
